Ninety-Nine Nights (XBOX 360)
First impression is WOW… The graphics are AWESOME. Even during game play the graphics are killer, the sound is rich.
But then you get to game play. It’s the first game I have played with this style, a style that cannot be easily described. For those we have seen the first Lord of the Rings, during the intro when Sauron swings his sword and hundreds of men fly off, that is exactly the game style.
It’s you (and most of the time allies; who can’t kill for the life of them) against hundreds to thousands of enemies. You walk into the on-coming hoard and hack and slash till you kill them all. It gets very repetitive even with the different move combo’s. You get different weapons with different stats, but besides the design of the weapon, not much else is different in game play.
The story line gets repetitive also. It’s one story, although each character you play the story changes a little, but over all you see the same places and kill the same amount of hoard.
The biggest turn-off is the lack of save points. Each mission can last 10 minutes or up to 30 plus minutes, without a save point. So if you die, you have to re-start it over. That part just BLOWS the big one. That makes this game so not worth playing. Few times the last boss kicked me a new one and then having to restart was not fun. You loss everything, things you collected from chest, Kills, XP. It’s like playing 30 minutes for nothing.
It’s was worth renting the game. I have enjoyed it overall. It’s a different kind of game play style, with killer graphic and a good story.
But no way is it worth 60 dollars.
