There are two big football games this weekend for any Boston College Eagle and New England Patriot follower.
First off we have (16) Boston Coll. vs. (22) Wake Forest
As of when I type this 73% of College Pick’em users predict Boston Coll. will win the game.
Nice odds; not that that means anything when the pigskin flies.
Atlantic Coast Conference Standings
Atlantic Conf All
Boston College (16) 3-1 7-1
Wake Forest (22) 3-1 7-1
Maryland 3-1 6-2
Clemson (19) 4-2 7-2
North Carolina State 2-3 3-5
Florida State 2-4 4-4
Our Remaining Schedule:
Sat, Nov 4 at (22) Wake Forest 7:00 pm
Sat, Nov 11 Duke 7:00 pm
Sat, Nov 18 Maryland TBA
Thu, Nov 23 at Miami (FL) 7:30 pm
If Boston College wants to represent the Atlantic division in the ACC championship game and have a chance at the automatic BCS bid; we have to beat the remaining four teams on the schedule since they are all conference games. WF and Maryland will hold the toughest test but each game will not be easy.
And how important will the last second lose to NC State turn out to be? If we run the table and finished 11-1 it will sting DEEP.
If we held on to win and not let that miraculous play take place it could have been for a chance to play in the national championship game. OUCH…
And the other game…
Indianapolis Colts (7-0-0, 1st AFC South)
@
New England Patriots (6-1-0, 1st AFC East)
57% of Pro Pick’em users predict Indianapolis will win the game.
Arguably two of the best teams this year in the AFC and Arguably the two best QB’s of this generation and probably who has ever played. Go to any sports site: espn.com, sportsillustrated.cnn.com, sports.yahoo.com and you can see the hype and fanfare.
From my expert opinion it will come to two things.
A. Ball control for the Patriots: We know the Colt’s offense can score, but if their offense is not on the field they can’t. If we can grind the game out with our two headed monster rushing attack and control the clock we will win.
B. Payton Manning vs. Patriots Defense: We know it’s unlikely the patriots can have the ball for the entire 60 minutes of the game, so when “Choke Artist Payton” has the ball, can the Patriots defense stop him enough.
If the Patriots can pull off those two points; the Patriots will win without a doubt.
If they can’t; it’ll come down to one of two options:
Who has the ball last
Which Defense makes the timely stop
